A/N: Just something little, i mean honestly, me? write something longer than three hundred words? You must be barking mad!

Why was a New York minute shorter than everyone else’s? Why in some places did a minute last for hours and hours for weeks?

 As Teddy watched James Potter beam at his friend-turned-lover, never had the envy been so great, never had time passed so slowly. The very second suppressed the hours, suppressing even the weeks upon weeks, drifting, forever more, into the waste less years.

 Yet even as the tears fell Teddy continued to smile.

 Best-man, best friend, best anything Teddy had been them all.

 Best-man, as he watched the love of his life bind himself to another woman.

 Best friend, when all his heart screamed was for more.

 Teddy still smiled as the tears continued to fall. Only later would he drown himself in a bottle, only after the wedding would he finally submerge into grief. Only after the final toast had been made would he seal himself into silence.

 Best-man, best friend, best anything, he’d be the best of them all.

you know what? if ur gonna write a non slash, why no just go the whole hog and write remus/tonks? hehe.... i can see that happening... or not.

Well look at it this way: James 'Sirius' Potter and Teddy 'Remus' Lupin ... i think that's what sold that pairing for me in the first place *grin*

Poor thing!

It took me a good long while to start writing het (which is weird because I got into fanfiction reading Harry/Ginny *shudder* but my first fic was fslash...so there). I think I have what, 5 het fics out of a bunch of slash/fslash.

So don't worry about it...slash ftw, y/y?
