Yes! Inception kids running amok during their Hogwarts days. Focus on Arthur/Eames as a pairing with a good dose of the crazy friendship of Arthur and Cobb. I'm a Slytherin, so my house being represented in any fun way would be nice as well. Antics and shenanigans make Hogwarts interesting! Ummm... I totally agree with your house choices! Arthur is hard to sort IMO, (because I tend to sort people in like EVERY FANDOM I JOIN, because HP!houses > life) but I could totally see him being a puff for those reasons! And Mal and Cobb being Ravenclaws... they have the problem of THIS IS HOW RAVENCLAWS GET INTO TROUBLE (what with the taking the search for knowledge to a bad place in Inception canon), which, LOVE IT.
Eames totally is a Slytherin (HOUSE PRIDE!!!! *cough*) and I love how in your idea he's the one who doesn't take a side even though he's the Slytherin, because that's very Eames.
I LIKE THIS, with complicated backstory for reasons and Mal dying because of objecting and thus making Dom kind of batshit (and his kids under threat if Dom doesn't stick with Voldemort's plans) and Arthur is just trying to keep him from going off the deep end, while being extremely badass.
And it's not like you'd EXPECT a Hufflepuff to become a death eater, but he's got a certain skill set and he gets satisfaction out of doing things he's good at and what he does lets him do that. And I can so see Dom and Mal being behind him being recruited by the Death Eaters. He's not anti-muggle or anything, not particularly caring about the politics of it at all, beyond it's practical implications. And probably, if Mal and Dom hadn't gotten him involved with the Death Eaters, he probably would've ended up an Auror or unspeakable or something. And he's definitely morally ambiguous enough for it.
Yusuf being a potions master! Always coming up with crazy new experiments that no one has tried before and is a death eater because they provide test subjects for him and don't try to regulate anything.
And Eames, with the forger thing, could be a Metamorphmagus!

Arthur doesn't even care about what they're doing, not really, he's not heartless but quite frankly, the Aurors are killing people too, more importantly, they're trying to kill Dom and Mal. He's good at what he does: he's going to protect them if he has to. So yeah, he was going to be an Unspeakable. It worked out: it's a job that was going to use him to the best ability. And then one day, Mal comes along with this idea and knows these people that are going to help her and Dom achieve it. And then Arthur thinks about it, and yeah, this new job is going to use his skills even better than that of an Unspeakable. Once he comes to that conclusion, there's not really a choice is there?

They were working on how to get the Death Eaters and/or Voldemort to be able to do something like that, it'd be valuable intel and also great for the fear factor.

To me, and I could write a whole essay why actually, given the natural traits of Slytherin, by the second half of the war, you'd think more of them would be staying the hell out of the heavy stuff. Staying neutral is beneficial in general (this reminds me of how the people who made the most money during the civil war were the smugglers who worked with both sides...). So Eames makes sense with the whole "Instead he works his job and he's going to the top. He's going to be the best." totally works.

Well, LOL, not being killed and being together is a happy ending in this sort of thing! I mean, given the concept ANGST is like, necessary... besides both fandoms are clearly filled with it anyways. And they are in separate houses but screw house rivalry, like that's going to keep them from being totally awesome and sneaking off for smokes together.
